Freixenet Winemaker – Josep Bujan
Freixenet has a distinct personality and personal touch in every bottle. This personal touch comes from our Head Wine Maker, Josep Bujan, who has been with our winery since 1980. He is responsible for perfecting and refining the technological procedures that have allowed the production of Freixenet cavas to soar to over 100.000.000 bottles a year while still maintaining the craftsmanship quality for which our wines are known.
Josep, is also known for contributing articles to several magazines as well as authoring a book on sensory analysis. He is considered one of Spain´s most active winemakers.
Método tradicional
Our Cava is created using the método tradicional or traditional method, which means that the second fermentation, the bubble-creation and the ageing are all done in the same bottle you open at home, in a restaurant or wherever else you may enjoy a glass of Freixenet. It is a pretty long process, but well worth it!
The traditional method process has been used for centuries to make sparkling wines. It ensures the highest quality wines with better taste and finer bubbles. Freixenet has always been made in this traditional process and delivers consistent, high quality in every bottle.
